Don’t miss this disability-friendly travel list for families in the Los Angeles area!
Summer is finally here, and while in our minds we’re on a sunny beach reading the latest bestseller, in reality, we might be feeling a little nervous about planning our summer trips with our kiddos. Some of us may consider avoiding travel completely. Travel isn’t easy for many of our kids, and planning vacations that are fun, accessible, AND safe can often feel impossible. The world hasn’t quite caught up with providing the necessary accommodations and understanding for our kids. But more and more travel spots are making strides to remove barriers of accessibility — from sensory-friendly national parks to accessible family camps, beaches, and theme parks. Airlines are even starting to make small strides towards progress.
This week, we’re bringing you travel tips and accessible vacation destinations — designed with our kids’ needs in mind — that will help you create a safe and enjoyable summer for you and your family. Whether you’re hitting the open road in an RV, flying across the world, or setting up camp in a state park, we’ve got you covered with these ideas for family travel this summer!
