Frequently Asked Questions
A Kickstart is a free ten-day period for you to get to know Undivided and for your Navigator to get to know you and your family. During this time, your Navigator will help you identify priorities and goals. You’ll leave your Kickstart with a plan and resources to make actual progress on your priorities for the next 6 to 12 months.
It’s our mission to support families raising children with developmental disabilities or delays. Parents in our community face unique challenges, and we can lean on each other and our specialists to get the support we need. Undivided works with families to build a customized action plan based on their goals for their child. This might look like finding a new therapist or other provider, applying for or optimizing public benefits like Regional Center and IHSS, understanding how to facilitate the IEP services and accommodations your child needs to get the support they deserve, submitting the right paperwork to appeal a denied health insurance claim, and more. For more information about all that’s possible with Undivided support, sign up for a Kickstart and get all your questions answered.
The Undivided resource library with hundreds of articles, video clips, and guides is free and available to the public. In addition, Undivided has two levels of paid membership: Undivided Membership ($99 annually) provides access to members-only Office Hours with experts and full use of all features in our web and mobile super binder app. Navigator Membership ranges from $99 to $115 (annual vs. monthly payments) and includes everything in Undivided Membership plus your own dedicated Navigator, who is your partner at every turn, your sounding board, coach, organizer, facilitator, and emotional support. With Navigator Membership, you’ll have access to unlimited messaging with your Navigator to connect you with experts, and monthly Boost calls to help you identify and accomplish your goals.
The majority of Undivided Navigators are parents of children with disabilities themselves, and they also have personal and professional experience supporting hundreds of other families. Undivided Navigators undergo significant training to help families understand the medical, educational, and public benefit support systems they qualify for. Most importantly, Navigators are connected with our experts and specialists and can quickly help members get answers to their nitty gritty questions about insurance, IEPs, government programs, and more.
Yes. Undivided’s Navigators, advocates, and community resources can help families throughout the IEP process from navigation to advocacy, depending on the level of support desired. You can learn more on our IEP support page.
Yes. Undivided Navigators are often able to help with minor insurance challenges and can help you find a strategy that will help you optimize your private and public insurance. When you need additional hands-on support, Undivided’s Health Plan Advocacy Services department is here to help.
Yes, Undivided’s library of articles and in-app guides can help you make the most of government benefits like Regional Center, Medi-Cal, and CCS. See our Public Benefits decoder for more information about resources available to families in California raising kids with developmental disabilities and/or delays. When you need 1:1 assistance, our Navigators and Public Benefits Specialist are available to answer questions, walk you through applications, and provide other support to help you make the most of your benefits.
At this time, Undivided membership is only available to California residents. However, you can sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about our expansion into other states and eventually nationwide!
Our secure, digital binder lets you upload your child’s IEP, medical records, and other important documents to the Undivided app to store them all in one place. These documents are then accessible from anywhere, easily shareable, and organized for your family’s needs.
Guides are an exclusive feature of the Undivided app to help you set goals and get all the tools needed to accomplish those goals. Whether you’re applying for IHSS, prepping for an upcoming IEP meeting, or trying to get superbills reimbursed, our guides will walk you through each step of the process with links to helpful resources, templates, and easy-to-follow instructions. At any point, you can message your Navigator to get more help.
Undivided members check in with their Navigator every month for a 45-minute Boost call over the phone or video chat. A Boost call is your chance to ask questions, identify priorities and next steps, and make an action plan to accomplish your goals. You can talk with your Navigator about your concerns, and they’ll connect you with resources to get you on the right track. Check out this four-minute video to learn more about what to expect from a Boost call.
