As parents, we know the transition to a new school year can be overwhelming. Not only do you need to hunt down all the new school supplies your kiddo needs (because nothing from last year seems to fit or work anymore!) but you have to help your child prepare for so many changes — different teachers, a new schedule, new friends, different challenges — all while coordinating with your school team to make sure your child has the support they need to handle these changes. It can feel like a monumental task!

We get it because we’ve been there, and we know what would have made our parenting journey easier! Together with parents, professionals, special education experts, and engineers, we’ve built an all-in-one platform to make sure YOU get the support you need for a new school year.

1. Expert-backed resources

Wondering what IEP or 504 accommodations are recommended for students with your child’s diagnosis? Or what to do if a school assessment isn’t accurately capturing your child’s strengths and challenges? The Undivided resource library is packed with hundreds of articles and videos featuring experts in IEPs, behavior, mental health, and much more. Browse topics you’re interested in on our decoder page, or use Andy AI to search for answers to your questions. Find something you want to come back to and read or watch later? Log in to your Undivided account and bookmark any resource to save it to your personal library.

2. Special education and IEP templates

We want to help make communicating with your school team as easy as possible because we know it can feel intimidating to make a new request or try to get everyone on the same page. Enter our template library, which has forms, checklists, sample letters, and other resources we’ve created with the help of education advocates and experienced parents. Whether you’d like a printable template to write on or an editable Google doc to work digitally, check out our library of templates for ways to simplify working with your school team.

3. Digital binder

Forget hauling your heavy three-ring binder of endless paperwork to every IEP meeting. Upload everything you need to your Undivided digital binder, from your child’s work samples to therapist’s notes, progress reports, the IEP itself, and any other important documents that help your school team get a well-rounded picture of your child’s needs and skills. All your documents are stored safe and secure in your Undivided account, accessible from anywhere, and you can share them with your child’s care team with the click of a button.

Further organize your documents with notes and tags to help you find everything you need. Your digital binder also walks you through building a profile for your child with information on insurance, therapies, providers, services, strengths, and more, so you’ll have a summary of all your child’s care at a glance.

4. Step-by-step guidance

You know you want to request a 1:1 aide for your child, or prepare for them to start middle school, or request a new assessment, but getting started is often the hardest hurdle. Get a leg up on your to-do list with Undivided’s step-by-step walkthroughs, which break down big goals into doable tasks, with expert advice to guide you all along the way. Your goal workspace lets you write notes, attach documents, and create a custom checklist to keep everything organized in one place.

Not sure where to begin? Once you’ve built out your child’s profile, your Undivided account can suggest goals to work on to help maximize the support your child can receive, not just from the school but from your health plan and public benefits too.

Upload your child’s IEP to get actionable recommendations along with a summary that includes your concerns, priorities, and more—perfect for your next IEP meeting.

5. Office hours with experts

Do you have a burning question about your child’s IEP or 504 that you can’t find the answer to? Hop on Zoom to video chat with an education advocate! Every week, Undivided office hours hosts experts in special education, insurance, public benefits, and the tools of the Undivided platform so that you can get the expert insight you need to move forward. We know that every child is unique and needs support for their specific situation, so we invite trusted experts who know the ins and outs of the systems that families like ours navigate every day. After each office hours, we add our experts’ answers to our searchable resource library, so the Undivided knowledge base is always expanding to help more families.
