Can I be the IHSS provider for two recipients?
Published: Nov. 27, 2024Updated: Feb. 21, 2025
It's possible to be the designated IHSS provider for two people, such as two children or one child and one adult. However, the maximum a provider can work is 70.45 hours a week if they have ONE client and 66 hours a week if they have TWO clients. If both clients live in the same home, there is a small chance they can get an exemption to work 90 hours a week. These figures are total hours, not for each person.
