Can I be the IHSS provider for two recipients?
It's possible to be the designated IHSS provider for two people, such as two children or one child and one adult. However, the maximum a provider can work is 70.45 hours a week if they have ONE client and 66 hours a week if they have TWO clients. If both clients live in the same home, there is a small chance they can get an exemption to work 90 hours a week. These figures are total hours, not for each IHSS recipient. If both parents are parent providers for both of their two children, then they can each only do 66 hours. If one parent is the sole IHSS provider for one child and one parent is sole provider for the other child, then they can claim the maximum.
