Parent Question

Can I pay for a private school or NPS with Self-Determination (SDP) funding?

Published: Nov. 25, 2024

The Self-Determination Program can help make sure your child's unmet needs are addressed, but in short, SDP doesn’t pay for private schools.

If the school you'd like your child to attend is a non-public school (NPS), however, the school district may provide funding. If your IEP team and the district agree that this is an appropriate placement for your child, they would pay for it in full.
