Can my child get executive functioning support through Regional Center?
If you have concerns about your child's executive functioning skills, it may be possible to get support from Regional Center. If your child is a client, Regional Centers can help fund tutoring or educational therapy.
Some Regional Centers offer adaptive skills services, which can also help. Ask your service coordinator if your Regional Center provides this.
Note that occupational therapy can also help with executive functioning concerns. Regional Center does not typically fund OT for children over age 3, but your child can receive OT at school through an IEP plan, and medical insurance can also cover OT. Be sure to talk to your child's provider(s) about your concerns so that they can get a plan in place to help your child build upon their executive functioning skills.
