Parent Question

Can Regional Center restrict how many times I use a vendor?

Published: Nov. 1, 2024

When accessing Regional Center services, you may come across restrictions on how many times you can use a vendor. For example, for a social skills class with 3 trimesters, your Regional Center might say they will only fund 2 of the 3.

In a Self-Determination Program spending plan, you could be more flexible, such as by taking some of the budget from a different area to fund the class you want.

If you have set vendor that could provide a report of your child's ongoing need, you can allocate funds for it and then request a report to send to your Regional Center. This might say something like, “We are still benefitting. There are another X amount of sessions. Please fund for the extra sessions.”
