Do I need to notify Medi-Cal if I lose or switch private insurance?
Published: Feb. 26, 2025
A change in circumstances such as a new job or losing a job will typically affect your private insurance. If you also have Medi-Cal, you may wonder whether you need to notify Medi-Cal about the change and what timeframe is required.
Note that your child's Medi-Cal coverage is determined for a year, so you can submit new financial information at the next annual recertification.
You can add or remove other health coverage here by clicking on the form that says OHC removal form.
