How can I become an Independent Facilitator for the Self-Determination Program?
Published: Nov. 1, 2024Updated: Nov. 1, 2024
If you would like to become an Independent Facilitator to work with Regional Clients in the Self-Determination program, the first step is to contact the Regional Center in your catchment area about any trainings. Autism Society of LA has different trainings, as does the Guidelight Group. Once you complete training, then you can see if you can build a client base. Note that it's not recommended that you serve as your own child's Independent Facilitator until you have experience navigating the system. You should also have some background in financial planning.
