Parent Question

How can I get funding for my child’s social-recreational programs and therapies?

Published: Mar. 4, 2022Updated: Mar. 17, 2022

Regional Center can help fund social-rec classes and therapies for clients. To access this funding, you will need to write the classes and therapies into your IPP as goals.

You should create specific goals, so you can show how your child is progressing. You should also ensure the goals are supported by the service you are requesting.

For example, if your child participates in a Saturday recreation program where the group meets weekly, their goal might be to learn conversational turn-taking. By participating in the activity, your child can learn conversational skills by practicing with their peers and observing them.
