How do I apply for IHSS back pay?
If your child has been approved for retroactive IHSS benefits, you should be able to request back pay by filling out a timesheet on your IHSS portal. Go into the portal and click on Supplemental Timesheets.
If the timesheets are not showing up in the system, you may need to submit a support ticket to the IHSS helpdesk or call payroll for assistance.
Note that in order to claim back pay or prorated pay as the parent provider, you need to fill out the timesheets; it is not automatic. It's recommended that when you enter the time, you claim the oldest dates first; they may have issues with the system if they are not entered in order of date.
The rate for IHSS back pay will be the rate of the date you did the work. For example, if you claim back pay for November and December but the rate increased in January, your back pay will be paid at the November and December rate.
