How do I ask for a new case manager for my child's IEP?

Published: Jan. 29, 2026Updated: Feb. 23, 2026

If your child has an IEP, your case manager is usually a special education teacher at the school, a program specialist, or another admin.

Getting a new case manager by request is very uncommon. You can ask, but you're likely to be told no unless you are in a very large school with lots of case managers. If you have concerns about your case manager's negligence, you can talk to your district's SpEd administer or director.
