How do I prepare for IHSS reassessment?

Once per year, you must renew your child's IHSS eligibility. (You can also request a reassessment outside of your annual renewal if your child's needs have changed.) The reassessment process will look a lot like your initial application: an IHSS case worker will visit your home and review your child's needs to determine what hours your child is authorized for and in which categories. If your child receives paramedical and/or protective supervision services, you may not need to resubmit all the forms each year, depending on your child's age; ask your case worker what to expect.
