How do I use Core Content Connectors (CCCs) to write IEP goals?
Core Content Connectors (CCCs) can be used to support students who have learning challenges. CCCs pick out the most important skills from the Common Core State Standards to teach in a simpler way, and they can be a reference when you're developing IEP goals.
Rather than listing the specific standards or Core Content Connectors on an IEP, look at the most essential standards to address this year and use them to inform your goals. Education advocates encourage IEP teams to write goals based on what will give students the most access to the content that their peers are learning. Think about what skills will allow your child to work on multiple content areas with the support they need to be successful.
You can also reference CCCs for previous grade levels to help a student work on foundational skills that they can build on while working on the same content as their grade-level peers.
