How long does it take to transition to the Self-Determination Program?

If you're transitioning your child from traditional Regional Center services to the Self-Determination Program, you may wonder about the length of time the transition takes from start to finish in order to begin services for your child.
In general, the process takes about six months. However, it depends on Regional Center, your Independent Facilitator, and the FMS you're working with, which could make the process faster or slower.
