Parent Question

How long should I wait to hear back from Regional Center?

Published: Oct. 28, 2024

If your Regional Center service coordinator hasn't been returning your emails or calls in a reasonable amount of time, the next step is to contact their supervisor or manager. There is no rule about what a "reasonable amount of time" is, but if you haven't heard back in a few weeks, you should follow up.

If the Regional Center continues to be unresponsive, you may want to file a 4731 complaint or file for a fair hearing. You can find more information about these processes in our article about Regional Center appeals. See also Regional Center Timelines for information about how long the Regional Center has to complete assessments, hold an IPP meeting, and other common requests.
