Parent Question

How many IEP goals should my child have?

Published: Nov. 19, 2024

There's no single answer for how many goals your child's IEP should have. Non-attorney education advocate Lisa Carey says, "The number of goals depends on a child’s needs. You want to have areas of need documented, which would inform the goals. Try to not duplicate goals, meaning goals aren't too similar in the same IEP to help make it easier."
