Parent Question

How soon do I need to notify my Regional Center about moving to a new address?

Published: Jan. 14, 2026Updated: Jan. 21, 2026

If you move to a new address that puts you into a new Regional Center's catchment area, you should tell your Regional Center service coordinator right away. Your child will need to transfer to the new Regional Center, so it's best to get started on the transition as soon as you know you are moving.

You should also notify Medi-Cal and IHSS about your new home address as soon as possible.
