If I have an IEP meeting coming up soon and I just requested another assessment, will we have the IEP meeting on the original date or can we wait for the new assessment results?

Schools are monitored for compliance with reviewing IEPs annually, so your school will want to hold the first IEP meeting on the scheduled date to ensure that they are within the required timeline. They may simply open the IEP meeting and then close it to be reconvened at a later date. Or, they may go over some present levels of performance (PLOPs) and other areas of the IEP before agreeing to reconvene later.
You may want to do the majority of the IEP meeting now so that you can sign it sooner because you might want the new goals to be implemented. You could schedule an amendment IEP to change the goals or add to them if they are affected by the assessment results.
