In our IHSS video training sessions, Undivided Public Benefits Specialist Lisa Concoff Kronbeck covers everything from IHSS basics to Protective Supervision, Paramedical Services, Personal Care Services, and Notice of Action (NOA). This table of contents lists all the videos, but you can click into each individual link for more details, including resources, transcripts, and helpful links for every session.

Session 1: In-Home Supportive Services Basics

Start here if you’re brand-new to IHSS or you want to make sure your child is receiving all the benefits they’re eligible for. For more information on session 1, click here.

Session 2: IHSS Protective Supervision

Does your child require constant supervision to prevent accidentally hurting themselves? Concoff Kronbeck dives into who is eligible for IHSS protective supervision, how many hours your child might get, and important tips to follow when applying. For more information on session 2, click here.

Session 3: IHSS Paramedical and Personal Care Services

If your child requires extensive care at home due to their medical needs, tune into this training video where Concoff Kronbeck teaches how to document your child's needs so that you can apply for extra IHSS hours to cover paramedical services. For more information on session 3, click here.

Session 4: Why Understanding Your IHSS NOA Could Be the Difference in More Hours

Your Notice of Action (NOA) from IHSS explains how many hours your child is authorized for and in what categories, but this document can be a bit tricky to read. Concoff Kronbeck explains what to pay attention to when you receive your NOA so that you know how many hours your child is authorized for (and if it should be more), what else they could potentially qualify for, how to submit an appeal if your child isn’t getting enough hours, and more. For more information on session 4, click here.
