To learn about housing and supported living policies and public benefits, we spoke with Sofia Cervantes, an advocate with the State Council on Developmental Disabilities. We also spoke with Michelle Wolf, executive director of Jewish Los Angeles Special Needs Trust (JLA Trust), and representatives from various housing and supported living models, including Scott Shepherd, executive director of Avenues Supported Living Services; Rose Van Weir Hein, executive director of Golden Heart Ranch; and the staff of Homies, a “life-sharing” program for people with disabilities.
