Dr. Bree Jiminez tells us that since the California Alternate Assessment is based on the California Alternate Assessment standards, how well students do will depend largely on how well the alternate standards are aligned with the core standards in each state. While this isn't a parent’s responsibility to solve, parents can bring questions to the IEP team about what is being taught in the curriculum and how it's aligned to state standards.
