Education

Lisa M. Carey, Undivided Education Advocate

Lisa Carey Special Education Advocate
"My philosophy is simple: every child deserves access to the best education possible, tailored to their unique abilities and needs. I approach each case with a blend of personal empathy and professional expertise, ensuring that families feel supported, heard, and empowered. I believe in collaborative problem-solving, transparent communication, and steadfast advocacy, always keeping the child’s best interests at the forefront."

As a mother of three children with disabilities, Lisa has navigated the challenging and intricate paths of the education system firsthand. Over the years, she has worked with hundreds of families, helping them to navigate the often daunting education system and advocate for their children’s rights and needs. She is a COPAA SEAT Program graduate, member with Board Certification for Advocacy in Special Education (B.C.A.S.E.), and member of COPAA, CAPCA, TASH, CALTash, and NASET.

Karen Ford Cull, Undivided Education Advocate

Karen Ford Cull Special Education Advocate
"What works for me is working with the family way ahead of the IEP, to support parents in creating a vision for their child’s education, and proactively and collaboratively creating an IEP with goals and services that will draw the IEP team into a plan for inclusion. When I can turn around an IEP meeting from contention to an authentic collaboration, that’s a win for me. I only work for families who are seeking more inclusion, or maintaining an inclusive placement, or seeking to improve the quality of their current inclusive setting."

Karen is a mother of three children, including a 19-year-old with Down syndrome. She has supported families informally for over a decade, as a volunteer for Club 21 Learning & Resource Center and South Bay Down Syndrome Association, and a Board Member of CalTASH for six years, and active in TASH. She has attended (and created) countless conferences, trainings, and presentations on IEPs, inclusive practices and the benefits of inclusive education, self-determination, and supported decision making. She is a USC/UCLA LEND Fellow in Family Support and has completed the COPAA Special Education Advocacy Training SEAT 2. She is also a PTA volunteer at district and state level and leads a non-profit called Include CA.

Lisa Concoff Kronbeck

Lisa Concoff Kronbeck
"I have experience in educating families on most California agencies that serve children with disabilities, but I have a particular interest in making sure that parents understand In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS). The whole process can be very intimidating, and an understanding of basic terms and concepts can go a long way toward feeling empowered to advocate effectively for each child."

Lisa has 11 years experience navigating various systems and agencies on behalf of her daughter with multiple disabilities. She is a former board member of South Bay Down Syndrome Association (now Club 21 South Bay), spent two years as a Senior Advocate / Staff Attorney at Disability Rights California in the public benefits unit, and completed a public policy internship at Disability Rights Legal Center.

"My younger daughter was born with cerebral palsy, microcephaly, cortical blindness, and also has a newly identified genetic diagnosis of TBCD (one of eight currently identified in the world). My family labored to create an intervention program for my daughter and to navigate the bureaucracy of insurance authorization and claim reimbursement. I now have 30 years of experience in the trenches with health plans."

During her decade serving as the intake coordinator, scheduler, and insurance liaison for a therapy clinic, Leslie spoke to thousands of families helping them to understand their health plan’s benefits, coverage, and authorizations. For the last 15 years, she has been working with parents of children with disabilities providing assistance with the private insurance system to rectify billing issues, pursue claims payment, initiate medical pre-authorizations, and submit appeals to overturn unjust denials.
