What should I pack for my child's service dog when traveling?
Published: Dec. 19, 2024
If your family is traveling with your child's service dog, here are some items to pack:
- A towel to put on the ground for your dog's designated spot
- Something chewy to keep them occupied (and to help clear their ears during takeoff and landing if you're on an airplane)
- A small bag of food on your person because you've likely packed their food for the trip in your suitcase (whatever food or snack you're going to give, make sure to try it out beforehand because dogs can have a bad reaction or an upset stomach)
- Your dog's favorite toys (don’t assume that dog-friendly accommodations are going to have dog toys).
