Will my child lose all their Regional Center therapies and services when they turn 3?
Regional Center early intervention services end at age 3, and the school district is supposed to provide services. Some parents ask for an extension from Regional Center but get denied and are told the school district is responsible.
One thing you could do is ask the school district to fund the existing services until the IEP process is complete. You could show them the Regional Center denial.
You should also ask your Regional Center if your child is either provisionally eligible or fully eligible for Lanterman Act services after age 3. This will not extend early intervention services but will give your child access to additional services.
