Parent Question

Will Regional Center pay for an Independent Facilitator?

Published: Dec. 3, 2024

There are costs associated with transitioning to the Self-Determination Program, but Regional Center sets aside funding to cover those costs. Regional Center will pay $1,000 toward an Independent Facilitator to develop your child's person-centered plan (PCP). Then, Regional Centers will pay for up to 40 hours of continued support for the transition to SDP, paid hourly at a specific rate depending on the Regional Center. Those 40 hours can be split between the Independent Facilitator and financial management services, but they must first be approved by the Regional Center.
