Switching your Medi-Cal managed care plan is fairly straightforward. Call Health Care Options to talk with a representative about your options for switching. You should be able to switch at any time and not have to wait until a renewal period. However, your new coverage may not begin until the start of the next month.

It may take time for the change to process. That may also depend on whether you’re switching an entire plan or switching from one sub plan to another; for example, LA Care has several sub plans.
