Debunking the Myth: AAC Doesn’t Inhibit Verbal Speech

It is a myth that AAC inhibits verbal speech! Assistive and Augmentative Communication (AAC) only supports verbal speech and children will try to talk more when using a different form of communication. Speech language pathologist Ali Steers says that if a child is struggling with verbal speech, there is absolutely no harm in introducing AAC.
