Every year, the Undivided Research Team compiles a list of accessible camps across California! Our roundup of 2026 day camps in the Los Angeles area feature fun activities like arts and crafts, sports, performing arts, music, and much more to help kids build social skills, independence, team skills, and motor skills while school is out for summer break, so browse the list to find a program that sounds like a good fit for your child.

Central Los Angeles

California Science Center: Hands-On Science Camp

California Science Center’s summer programming will cover multiple scientific disciplines from chemistry to earth science, with classes geared toward specific grade ranges. To learn more about the class offerings, you can review the 2026 schedules by grade level. Previous camps included interactive tours of exhibits, live demonstrations, and exclusive Q&A sessions with onsite scientists and animal care staff. Instructors are trained educators who hold degrees in science or education.

  • Format: In-person, full or half day
  • Dates: June 15–August 7, 2026. Families can choose between morning, afternoon, and full-day options. Full-day classes run 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. No camps the week of July 4, 2026.
  • Location: California Science Center, 700 Exposition Park Dr. Los Angeles, CA 90037
  • Ages: Pre-K through eighth grade. Campers should enroll in the class that represents the grade they will be entering in the fall.
  • Disabilities served: This is not a camp specifically for those with disabilities, but they do offer an inclusive environment.
  • Cost:
    • Non-members: half-day $240, full-day $480.
    • Members: half-day $225, full-day $450.
    • Self-Determination Program funds are accepted. Contact the camp directly to coordinate payment.
  • Registration: You can register for their summer programming online here.
  • 1:1 aide policy: The Science Center is happy to accommodate student aides as needed. They request that after enrolling, you contact them directly at educationprograms@californiasciencecenter.org to inform them of the details for the student and their aide.
  • Language: English. Some staff are bilingual depending on the week that you sign up for.

Code Ninjas

Code Ninjas is a nationwide franchise dedicated to providing fun and educational computer programming and tech classes for kids. Summer curriculum has included week-long classes such as 3D Design and Print, Jr. Adventures in Game Design, Stop Motion Animation, Become a YouTuber, Intro to Roblox Development, Jr. STEM Discoveries, Robotics with Lego, Modding With Minecraft, and more. Class availability varies by location.

  • Format: In-person, full or half day
  • Dates and times: Dates and times vary based on class and location.
  • Location: Multiple locations throughout California. Find a camp near you with their location finder and check out class schedules. One central LA location is Silver Lake.
  • Ages: 5–15 years old

Galileo Camps

Galileo encourages children to think like innovators by creating new crafts, building, or inventing something every week, sparking their curiosity and imagination. This summer, Galileo offers theme weeks like team color day, crazy hat day, and Jalloween (Halloween in July!). The curriculum of each camp is adjusted based on the age range of the campers.

  • Format: In-person, full day
  • Dates and times: Weekly sessions are Monday through Friday. Dates vary by location. Camps run 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. with extended care 8:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. for an additional fee. Southern California dates:

  • Disabilities served: This is not a camp specific for those with a disability, but they have had many individuals with disabilities participate in their programs successfully. Inquire directly about your child’s specific support needs to determine if it is a good fit.
  • Cost:
    • Pricing varies by location and program; on average, the cost ranges $455–$655 per week. Discounts are available if multiple weeks are booked.
    • Extended care options are available for an additional cost per week, $40 for 8:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m. and $80 for 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. If using both, discounts are offered for a total of $100 per week.
    • Regional Center and Self-Determination Program funds are accepted.

Natural History Museum of Los Angeles: Adventures in Nature

For the last 30 years, the Natural History Museum has offered seasonal day camps for students to explore dinosaurs and nature in new ways. Campers are given hands-on experiences and up-close access to 4.5 billion years of life on Earth. Through the use of the research and collections of the museum, campers have a “jumping off point for exploration and adventure.” The instructors and counselors are professional educators with experience in teaching and science.

  • Format: In-person, full day
  • Dates and times:

At this WASC-accredited, STEM-focused camp, kids can learn more about coding, animation, robotics, and game design while building skills and having fun. Students don’t need any prior experience with these subjects before attending camp. For more information on the camps, look over their frequently asked questions page.

  • Format: In-person, full day
  • Location: The East LA location is being held at K.L. Carver Elementary School at 3100 Huntington Dr. in San Marino.
  • Dates and times: June 29–July 24, 2026. Camp hours are 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Camps sign up for one week at a time.
  • Disabilities served: Although Integem isn’t designed specifically for kids with disabilities, their small teacher-to-student ratio and multidisciplinary approach to learning has worked well for campers with autism, ADHD, and some learning disabilities. If you have questions about the camp’s ability to accommodate your child, contact support@integem.com.
  • Ages: 6–18 years old
  • Cost:
    • Class fees vary depending on age and class selected.
    • Early bird registration fee is available by filling out their online form.
    • Need-based scholarships are available. Use this link to apply.
    • Regional Center funds are accepted. They will work with the Regional Center in any way the families need. Some have asked them to become vendors; others provide documents for families who submit them to their Regional Center to be reimbursed.

iDTech offers an immersive environment on college campuses for kids seeking to learn computer programming languages and game design. Classes include week-long studies of computing topics such as Roblox, Minecraft, game design, Java, Lua Coding, modding, BattleBots, Python, Unity, and AI. For kids who are interested in learning about transitioning to life on a college campus, there is the option for sleeping in the dorms. For students who prefer to access their camp online, there are two-week virtual summer camps. Overnight campers must be 10 years or older; kids ages 7-9 are welcome to camps but can only attend the day camp or online camp.

  • Format: In-person, online, and sleepaway
  • Dates and times: Camps run Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., but be sure to review the times for your selected course. The weeks offered will vary depending on location. The California Institute of Technology location dates are June 22–August 14, 2026.
  • Location: Locations are nationwide. The East LA location for 2026 summer camp is the California Institute of Technology, 1200 E California Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91125.
  • Ages: Ages depend on the course, ranging 7–17 years old.
  • Disabilities served: Testimonials from families of twice-exceptional students with interest in STEM have found this summer program to be a good fit and a scaffolded introduction to college life.
  • Cost:
    • Cost depends on the camp selected, starting at $1,099.
    • Payment plans are available.
    • Need-based scholarships are available via an online application.
    • Regional Center funds can be used. Yash confirmed they are vendored with several such as San Diego Regional Center.
    • Self-Determination Program funds are accepted.
  • Register: Registration links for the Southern California area: California Institute of Technology and University of California Los Angeles. Once you have selected your preferred location, navigate down to the “Courses available” section. From the table of available courses and spots, click on the week your camper would like to attend. This will expand a registration form and more details about the camp. Fill out the basic information under “Let’s get started!” and follow the on-screen prompts to complete.

Mad Science Central Los Angeles teams up with City Recreation Centers and local schools to host interactive ways to explore the different parts of science year-round. They have a 20:1 camper-to-instructor ratio for their summer camps with a minimum of 10 students per class. Half day and full day options are available.   • Location: Mad Science Central Los Angeles is pairing up in East LA with the City of Arcadia Parks and Recreation located at 375 Campus Dr., Arcadia, CA, 91007 for 2026 summer camps.
  • Ages: 5-12 years
  • Disabilities served: This camp is not specifically designed for those with disabilities, but they are inclusive. Per Nina Vasileva, Account Manager, “We don't have any level of disability that we do not accept, but our camps do include activities that involve moving around and recess time, and our instructors are not trained as paraeducators.” They have had children with autism, giftedness, and 2E successfully attend their camps in previous years.

Planet Bravo is considered LA’s leader in K–8 technology education and offers an award-winning summer computer camp for kids. Camps offer opportunities for learning to code, making movies, modding Minecraft, or building robots. Each day, campers can participate in fun group activities, indoor learning, and games outdoors. They are introducing a handful of new courses this summer including STEM Launchpad, Tech Launchpad, Toy Lab, and Animal Adventures. At UCPIE, they offer several programs including an Adaptive Bike program, counseling for caregivers through the Family Empowerment Program, and an in-person Skills Builder program that offers additional activities throughout the summertime. They ask that the participants have a certain level of independence when participating in the Skills Builder program. They keep the instructor-to-participant ratio low at 1:3.

  • Format: In-person, online
  • Dates and times: Participants can sign up for multiple days. Dates and times depend on the location.   • Location: Varies for meetups. They are within Inland Empire, and a calendar is provided to families well in advance.
  • Registration: Complete the online form. UCPIE will contact the family to confirm their programs are a good fit and if there is space.

  • 1:1 aide policy: Typically, no 1:1 aides are allowed. They do not accept participants for the in-person Skills Builder program who elope or cannot independently toilet.

A group of aerospace engineers who love robots started Rolling Robots to give all kids the chance to discover their inner scientists. Ballona Discovery Nature Camp is an outdoor science day camp based out of the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve. During camp, children learn about the natural world while exploring Ballona, identifying plants and animals, and talking about environmental responsibility. iDTech offers an immersive environment on college campuses for kids seeking to learn computer programming languages and game design. Classes include week-long studies of computing topics such as Roblox, Minecraft, game design, Java, Lua Coding, modding, BattleBots, Python, Unity, and AI. For kids who are interested in learning about transitioning to life on a college campus, there is the option for sleeping in the dorms. Camp Kelly was created in 2021 by New Growth with a mission to bring neurotypical and disabled peers together in “an accepting environment” that emphasizes empathy, emotional intelligence, and “understanding that all humans are different.” Their services are built on principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, access, and community, encouraging everyone to “embrace our differences and learn how to work together.” Camp Kelly provides a classic camp experience in an inclusive environment so that children of all abilities can “learn, laugh, and develop lasting friendships.” Camp weeks are assigned a specific theme, with each day designed to be both structured and engaging. Throughout the two-week program, campers get six hours daily of occupational therapy to help them enhance the function of the weaker hand or arm. This involves a combination of bimanual and constraint-induced movement therapy built into classic activities like obstacle courses, games, arts, crafts, music therapy, pet therapy, and more. Because camp is led by occupational therapists who have treated hemiparesis, each camper gets individualized camp goals as well as pre- and post-camp assessments.

Dr. Lesli Preuss is a child and family psychologist who specializes in treating 2E and “intellectually gifted children,” offering services like school placement, educational support, mental health support, gender identity support, and therapy. Each year, she hosts an educational summer camp specifically to help 2E children learn social skills, self-awareness, team-building, sportsmanship, conflict resolution, self-reflection, and cooperative play. Each day, campers spend time with Dr. Preuss’s ranch animals, visit museums, go on field trips, participate in scavenger hunts, and more! They’re also rewarded “buddy bucks” to redeem for prizes.
