Math isn’t just about learning to add and subtract — it’s so much more. It includes problem-solving, critical thinking, and even logic, which are key skills for both math and life! For many of our kids, math can be a challenge. That’s why we’ve put together a list of math programs, curricula, websites, assistive technology, universal tools, and apps to support your child in reaching their math goals.

Math apps, assistive tech, and programs

Assistive technology apps are designed for students with disabilities to provide access to math instruction.

Useful universal math tools

These are great tech tools for any student learning math.

  • Online Student Course - YouCubed: How to learn math — a six-part course for students using Professor Jo Boaler’s Math Mindset approach.

  • Kahn Academy: Short videos for each math standard from preschool all the way to high school.

  • DoodleMaths is an app for kids that boosts maths confidence and ability by creating every child a unique maths experience tailored to their needs

  • Photomath allows students (or helping parents) to scan the math problem with their phone, and it offers a step by step explanation about how to complete the assignment. (FREE, or $9.99/month for Photomath Plus). Heads up, some teachers don’t like students using this! But it’s a great tool for parents who can’t remember their algebra days.
