The Miracle Project is a fully inclusive program that combines theater, film, music, movement, and other expressive arts to allow individuals with autism, other disabilities, and all abilities to “develop social and job skills, enhance communication, increase self-awareness, and confidence, ease anxiety, and find joy in experience.” Their mission is “to create a neurodiverse community where the voices, passions, and stories of individuals of all abilities are celebrated, elevated, supported, and belong.”
The Miracle Project is still ironing out their transition plan for in-person programs, so they will continue to be fully virtual at this time. They will likely be launching a hybrid in-person/online camp in preparation for in-person classes to start in the fall. They will continue to offer some classes virtually, as they have been able to serve many more individuals this way.

Maja Watkins’ popular Zip Zap Zop improv classes have been a hit for our families. Zip Zap Zop Enrichment teaches social and emotional learning (SEL) using improv to enhance social skills. SEL includes social awareness, self-awareness, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and self-management. Maja shared that this summer, they are planning on holding classes in person in South Pasadena and are in the process of determining dates. They will offer both an in-person option and a Zoom option!

RAD focuses on empowering children with disabilities, and their staff and volunteers are trained to support campers with disabilities. The environment is open, accepting, and recognizes that everyone has gifts. At RAD, campers develop life skills in fun and creative ways. Even though the program is virtual this year, socialization remains a centerpiece. Activities are planned in one-hour increments, and campers participate in different programs daily; this summer’s camp is space-themed. (Note: Some of the wording on their website may not be everyone’s cup of tea; however, we know several families whose kids have had a great experience with them.

Camp Wildfolk creates a space for community and connection through activities and group projects. They are excited to be back in action this summer for a modified camp program at their long-time campus in West Hollywood (Larchmont Charter on Fairfax at Fountain); they’re also making their long-awaited Valley Village debut at the beautiful, spacious campus at Adat Ari El (on Burbank at Laurel Canyon).

A group of aerospace engineers who love robots started Rolling Robots to give all kids the chance to discover their inner scientists. They have multiple locations and offer classes from beginner to advanced in robot making, in addition to other areas of interest such as Minecraft, coding, artificial intelligence, and 3D printing. Online classes are available. In-person classes are offered in Palos Verde, Glendale, and West L.A. No prior experience is necessary. Rolling Robots teaches children of all learning backgrounds the core concepts of STEM, robotics, and coding. (Average 14 students per in-person class.)
Each week, campers will have a different theme to choose from, including Junior Robot Coders, Scratch Coding Beginner, Minecraft Build and Design, LEGO Robot Build and Code, Minecraft MODs, and 3D Printing Design.

The Artsy Wagon offers virtual art classes AND can bring their art classes to you! Virtual art classes, known as Artsy Creations, are ongoing, and you may sign up for a 4–6 day class pass and then join the classes of your choice. A recent theme was Cultures from Around the World. You may also purchase private or small group virtual classes in 4- or 6-week sessions, which are great if you want to get a group of peers together virtually to hold a special summer art session.
With their On the Go Art Classes, they bring the art class to you. You provide the space, and they will send the teacher and materials needed. Children will learn art techniques such as drawing, painting, watercolor, printing, and more.
They also offer a Mini-Camp Art Class, where siblings and peers can come together for an in-home art class! They offer options for two to four children to get together for art classes for a two- to three-hour art class; all the materials are provided, and activities include arts/crafts, movement, theater, and music!

Paint Lab is an open-space art studio that offers classes to adults, teens, and kids throughout the week. In addition, they offer an “open lab” for people to come in and paint. They also sell supplies such as paints and canvases, and they hold art classes and camps. Their summer camp for kids will be a mixed-media art camp; parents can purchase supplies themselves or contact Paint Lab for purchasing.

Art camp: Paint Lab is hosting an in-person summer camp at the studio. Each day has its own theme, such as animals and adventure, mixed media, drawing, and more.

The Realm Creative Academy centers on strength-based learning with practical application. Their website states that “basic skills such as reading, writing, and computation are taught through fascinating learning explorations rather than in isolation. Kids learn to make meaningful connections to their learning as they gain confidence in their ability to navigate the learning opportunities all around them.”
Their in-person summer camp offers different themed activities every week, such as Surf and Fun, Branches are Roots, Beach Balls, and more. Schedules change weekly as well.
