Parent Question

Will a school do a visual assessment beyond a vision test?

Published: May. 23, 2025Updated: Jun. 6, 2025

Schools routinely test students' vision and hearing to screen for potential impairments. If you have additional concerns beyond vision screening, visual processing is the assessment you can request. It looks at how the brain uses and interprets information from the eyes. The psych assessment of a comprehensive IEP evaluation should have a vision process section.
