Parent Question

Will Medi-Cal pay for transportation to and from an appointment?

Published: Nov. 27, 2024

Medi-Cal may fund transportation to/from a medical appointment if:

  1. Medi-Cal is also paying for the appointment and
  2. you have exhausted other resources for transportation.

Medi-Cal typically covers emergency transportation, but it may also be relevant with a medically complex child who requires non-emergency medical transit to appointments.

For more information about what Medi-Cal covers and when, see our Medi-Cal Terms & Services Glossary.
